WARRI—AHEAD of the Delta State re-run election, Chief Great Ogboru, Democratic People’s Party, DPP, gubernatorial candidate along with thousands of his supporters in Warri stormed the palace of His Royal Majesty, Benjamin Okumagba, the Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom and former President-General of Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, for royal blessings.
Ogboru dressed in a traditional attire arrived in a convoy of over fifty vehicles to the warm embrace of Okere-Warri chiefs.
Ogboru told the Monarch that his mission was to obtain royal blessings from the king and also to solicit for his support. He used the medium to assure Deltans that he is fully prepared for the election re-run as ordered by the appeal court.
“What happened on Tuesday at the rally was a testimony of our readiness for the election, we have the people and the structure to win, do not be deceived by the tales of my opponents that we have no structure, what is structure without the people?” Ogboru said.
HRM Okumagba prayed for Ogboru’s success and also called on Deltans to support him with a view to achieving positive change.
