ABUJA—Though workers resumed duties, yesterday, at the Federal Secretariat and the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, after Tuesday’s bomb scare, Abuja residents have become wary of parked vehicles.

It is believed that such vehicles are potential tools for bombers’ use.

Workers were seen going about their normal businesses at the three phases of the secretariat and the NNPC where workers had to leave before the normal closing hours for safety reasons last Tuesday.

Meanwhile, government-owned organisations are well guarded by security agents around the capital city, particularly the sensitive ones located in the heart of Abuja.

A visit by Vanguard to places like the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, the NNPC, and the 3-Arm Zone, showed heavy presence of security agents, while major access roads to these government organisations were cordoned off.

However, workers went about their normal duties.

It would be recalled that after the bomb blast of last Friday which killed over 13 Nigerians, the bomb scare story was taken with all seriousness as workers had to heed the call to vacate their offices before normal closing hours on Tuesday.

The National Assembly, NASS, also stopped shuttle vehicles from entering the complex, though sessions were held yesterday.
