Hon. Michael Macpherson Isiboru has unveiled a five-point commitment to legislative excellence, infrastructural development, improved social services, transparency and inclusive empowerment for residents of Alimosho Constituency 01, Lagos State, promising to prioritise initiatives that will improve the welfare of the people.

The commitment, which outlines his vision for the constituency, focuses on delivering people-oriented legislation, attracting transformational projects to communities, addressing critical sectors, ensuring accountability and expanding opportunities for youths, women and the elderly.

Under the development agenda, Hon. Michael identified Egbeda, Ipaja North, Ipaja South, Pleasure/Oke-Odo and Shasha/Akowonjo as areas to benefit from his proposed transformational projects.

He said his legislative priorities would centre on making laws capable of bringing meaningful change and protecting the interests of ordinary residents.

On legislative excellence, Hon. Michael pledged to make laws that would deliver tangible benefits to constituents, stressing the need for legislation that responds to the needs of the people and safeguards their interests.

He also promised to pursue a new phase of development across the constituency, with a focus on projects capable of improving living conditions and promoting growth in the various communities.

According to him, the development agenda would extend beyond infrastructure to cover critical sectors, including health, education, youth development, women’s welfare and security.

The lawmaker hopeful said these sectors would receive attention as part of efforts to address the needs of different segments of the population and promote inclusive development.

On transparency and accountability, Hon. Michael pledged to operate an open-door system of representation that would enable constituents to communicate their concerns and hold him accountable.

He said accessibility would remain a key component of his approach to representation, with the aim of ensuring that the voices and needs of residents informed his decisions and legislative priorities.

The fifth pillar of his commitment centres on empowerment, particularly for youths, women and elderly residents.

Hon. Michael said his main target would be to support these groups through what he described as bold legislation, signalling an intention to use his legislative responsibilities to promote their welfare and expand opportunities.

The five-point agenda presents a broad framework for his proposed representation, combining lawmaking with community development, social welfare and public accountability.

However, the extent to which the commitments will translate into tangible benefits for residents will depend on their implementation, legislative priorities and collaboration with relevant government agencies and stakeholders.
