Possible
By Emmanuel Okogba
Nigerian Afro-fusion artiste, Possible, is relying on self-belief and years of independent work as he releases his five-track EP titled ‘My Time’.
The project comes as the artiste continues to build his career without the backing of a record label, entertainment executive or major corporate partner.
Possible, whose real name is Sunday Uneke Okoro, has financed much of his musical journey himself, first through his earnings as a cleaner and later through proceeds from boating activities.
His decision to pursue music independently dates back to 2013, when he developed an interest in Afrobeat while studying at Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka.
He eventually left university to pursue music, despite opposition from his family.
His move to Lagos brought further challenges. He secured a cleaning job at an event centre in Bics Garden and spent his earnings on studio sessions while trying to establish himself as an artiste.
He later resigned from the job in 2021 and moved into boating activities, which he said has continued to provide the resources needed to sponsor his music.
That independent approach has continued into his latest project.
Possible’s “My Time” contains “Future,” “Baba,” “Unbelievable,” “Realize” and “Laye,” with production credits going to Dante_beatz, I’m Osez, Tenym and Kraybeatz.
The artiste sees the project as a potential turning point.
“I chose the title ‘My Time’ because I believe that the EP is going to become the beginning of my limelight in the Nigerian music industry, in other words, my time to shine,” he said.
The project also represents his desire to connect his music career to a broader purpose.
Possible said he wants his listeners to leave his music with the belief that anyone can succeed, that hard work pays and that focus and consistency are essential.
“I want the EP to turn out a successful project, bring blessings to me and to as many that are part of the project too,” he said.
Despite having no major breakthrough song yet, Possible has continued to release and record music, with previous songs including “Big Man Big Trouble,” “VIP,” “Little Girl,” “Open My Way,” “Ada,” “Dance,” “Your Heart” and “Take Life Jeje.”
He has also recorded “Murder” featuring Reekado Banks, although the song remains unreleased.
Possible currently works with Idris Amaka on PR and bookings, while his music is available across streaming platforms.
He has yet to perform outside Lagos or Nigeria but has set an ambitious target for himself: to become one of Nigeria’s top A-list artistes within the next five years.
For an artiste who has built his career largely without institutional backing, “My Time” is both a musical project and a declaration of intent—the point at which Possible hopes years of persistence will translate into wider recognition.
