The atmosphere at the Landmark Event Centre in Victoria Island, Lagos, was electric penultimate Sunday as the 2026 Red Bull Dance Your Style Nigeria National Final brought together 16 of the country’s finest freestyle dancers. With no judges or pre-planned choreography, contestants battled to unpredictable music, while the audience alone determined who advanced and, ultimately, who claimed the coveted title.
When the dust settled, it was 2023 champion Balogun Jerry, popularly known as BJ Miah, who emerged victorious, reclaiming the national crown after defeating defending champion Rage in a thrilling final.
Returning with the clear ambition of winning back the title, BJ Miah impressed from the outset with his infectious energy, creativity and commanding stage presence. His ability to connect with the crowd proved decisive as he progressed through each knockout round, earning overwhelming support with every performance.
The championship battle delivered one of the day’s biggest highlights, as two former national champions went head-to-head in a contest that kept spectators on the edge of their seats. BJ Miah ultimately outshone Rage, producing a performance that resonated with the audience and secured his place as a two-time Red Bull Dance Your Style Nigeria champion.
The victory also earns BJ Miah another opportunity to represent Nigeria at the Red Bull Dance Your Style Global Final, which will be held on October 24, 2026, in Zürich, Switzerland, where he will compete against some of the world’s best freestyle dancers.
