The Intentional Life Changers Empowerment Foundation has continued its nationwide youth empowerment drive through the Unleash Your Intentional Self (UYIS) School Tour Season 2, an initiative designed to inspire Nigerian secondary school students to discover purpose, build confidence, and develop a growth mindset.
The school outreach programme, organized to commemorate International Women’s Day, has reached more than 18 schools across five cities, impacting thousands of students with lessons on leadership, self-awareness, and intentional living.
Speaking during one of the sessions, the founder of the initiative, Tamuno Abraham, said the tour was created to help young people understand their potential early in life and make purposeful decisions about their future.
Tamuno-imiebam explained that the inspiration behind the movement came from her own personal experience growing up.
According to her, she was raised by a hardworking mother who made sacrifices to give her a better future, but she still struggled with uncertainty about her identity and direction as a young student.
She recalled that a turning point came during a school event when a guest speaker told the audience, “You can be whatever you want to be.”
“That simple statement planted a seed in my life,” she said. “It changed how I saw myself and my possibilities. Today, I am committed to planting those same seeds in the lives of young people so they can believe in their potential before the world convinces them otherwise.”
Through interactive sessions, storytelling, and mentorship conversations, the UYIS School Tour encourages students to overcome fear, develop self-confidence, and take responsibility for shaping their future.
The outreach has already been held in Port Harcourt, Ibadan, Lagos, Gombe, and Kaduna, where classrooms have been transformed into platforms for inspiration and self-discovery.
In one of the schools visited, a student who had always been afraid to speak publicly gathered the courage to stand before her classmates and share her dream of becoming a leader, drawing applause from fellow students and teachers.
Education stakeholders have described the initiative as timely, noting that many students today struggle with low self-esteem, peer pressure, and uncertainty about their future in a highly competitive world.
While the first edition of the tour visited five schools in Port Harcourt, Season 2 has expanded significantly, reaching more cities and thousands of students across Nigeria.
The foundation also acknowledged the support of its partners and sponsors including Cloud10 Tech Hub, Margcox, Matrix International Academy Gombe, Victor Ameh Foundation, and Coree Group for contributing to the success of the initiative.
It further recognized the leadership of Grace Wetkos (National Coordinator) and the contributions of chapter leads Kehinde Blessing, Becky Wakama, Gertrude Ibrahim, Adeyemi Olabisi, and John Oke (Media Director), alongside volunteers working across the different cities.
Abraham noted that the vision of the initiative is to raise a new generation of young Nigerians who are confident, self-aware, and intentional about their future.
“When a young person becomes intentional about who they are becoming,” she said, “the future changes.”
Through the UYIS School Tour, the foundation continues to plant seeds of courage, purpose, and leadership in young minds across Nigeria—laying the foundation for a generation capable of transforming communities and shaping Africa’s future.
