Dr. Mahmoud Bala Alfa has unveiled the inaugural cohort of beneficiaries under his ICT Training Scholarship initiative, marking a significant step in his youth-focused drive to promote digital literacy and employability in Kogi East.

The first set of scholars comprises two First Class graduates—Daniel Agama and Alih Lubabet Muhammed—and four Second Class Upper graduates: Abubakar Amidu, Abdulrahman Ibrahim Adejoh, Khadizat Adams Nuhu, and Omalle Enemona.

In a statement released by the Campaign Office, the selections were made strictly on merit, reflecting a commitment to rewarding academic excellence while equipping recipients with practical, job-ready ICT skills.

“The programme is structured to translate classroom achievement into market-relevant competencies across technology and the knowledge economy,” the statement said.

Shortlisted candidates will receive direct communication detailing onboarding procedures, training timelines, and participation guidelines.

The ICT scholarship forms part of a broader framework aimed at youth empowerment, employability enhancement, and long-term capacity building in Kogi East communities.
