The New Media Conference (NMC), Africa’s foremost gathering of digital and new media professionals, has unveiled the NMC 100 List—a prestigious compilation celebrating 100 individuals and organizations that have significantly shaped Nigeria’s digital media ecosystem over the past decade.
The list was revealed during the 10th edition of the New Media Conference, held in Lagos, Nigeria. The NMC 100 List recognizes trailblazers whose creativity, innovation, and influence have transformed diverse sectors such as digital journalism, content creation, technology, digital marketing, and community building.
Recognizing the Disruptors
Among the celebrated names are standout creators and innovators who have left indelible marks on Nigeria’s digital space:
Social Media & Community Building: Uche Pedro (Founder, BellaNaija), Nkem Onwudiwe (Her Network), Oluwatosin Olaseinde (Money Africa), Enioluwa Adeoluwa, and comedian Mr. Macaroni were honored for fostering vibrant online communities that inspire and educate millions.
Digital Journalism & Investigative Storytelling: The Cable, Premium Times, and investigative journalist Fisayo Soyombo were recognized for their relentless pursuit of truth, accountability, and impact-driven journalism in the digital era.
Digital Content Creation: Entertainers and influencers including Broda Shaggi, Nons Miraj, Tomike Adeoye, Funke Akindele, Mark Angel Comedy, and Taaooma earned spots for their engaging and innovative storytelling that continue to shape pop culture and online entertainment.
Tech Innovation in New Media: Pioneering platforms such as Iroko TV and Techpoint Africa were lauded for redefining how Africans consume media and information through technology-driven solutions.
Digital Marketing & PR: Agencies like ID Africa and Wild Fusion made the list for revolutionizing brand communication and audience engagement in the digital space.
Podcasting Excellence: The growing influence of audio media was also celebrated, featuring shows such as I Said What I Said, Off Air with Gbemi & Toolz, and notable media personalities Joey Akan and Toke Makinwa.
A Decade of Impact
Speaking at the event, Oluwatosin Ajibade, Convener of the New Media Conference and founder of OloriSuperGal, said the honorees embody the vision and resilience that define Africa’s evolving digital culture.

This year’s theme, “A Decade of Disrupting New Media: Shaping Africa’s Future,” reflects NMC’s mission to spotlight pioneers who have amplified new voices, challenged norms, and set new standards for digital storytelling and influence across the continent.
