The re-elected President General of Okurowhe community of Okpe local government area of Delta state, Chief Augustine Ogedegbe has reassured his people of more development and other basic amenities to the community, promising that on or before the end of this year a model town hall will be ready for commissioning in the community.

Ogedegbe, who gave this assurance during his acceptance speech after he was reelected as the President General of Okurowhe Community, Okpe local government area, said the call by his people to continue is a testament that they are well informed of his leadership.

The Okurowhe community on Sunday gathered and reelected Chief Ogedegbe as the President General, alongside members of his executive to continue to pilot the affairs of the community for the overall development of the people,

Others also reelected are the Vice Chairman, Mr. Augustine Shishe; Secretary General, Comrade Daniel Erhirhie; Assistant Secretary, Mr. Tega Ochuko; Treasure, Mr. Timothy Atigolo while Mr Michael Ukpebitere, Fin. Sec, Mr Johnson Edowhosa, PRO, Rosemary Oghenemene, Women leader and Akpoveowo Umukoro, Assistant Women leader among others.

The election which was held in the presence of security agents, witnessed a huge turnout of youths, young men, women and men pouring encomium on Chief Ogedegbe saying, “Na u we want oooo, Ogegegbe; na u we want” “Ogedegbe government bring development to Okurowhe Community” “We are not tired of Ogedegbe government” “We need am like ever before.”

Meanwhile, the returning officer, Elder Festue Emete, who dissolved the executive before conducting a fresh election, commended members of the community for the peaceful manner they comported themselves before, during and after the election that brought back the President General, Chief Augustine Usinefe Ogedegbe and his executives.

The eldest man of the community, Pa John Atigolo expressed satisfaction with the transparency the election was conducted, pointing out that it showed the level the community had embraced peace and unity, urging all parties to work together for the overall development of the Okurowhe Community.

Speaking further, Pa. Atigolo said: “The era of violence is over and Okurowhe community will continue to know peace and will also used this medium to appreciate the state governor, Sheriff Oborevwori for the construction Agbarho, Okurowhe and Okan the junction road.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after the swearing-in as the re-elected President General, Ogedegbe and his executives, thanked the people of Okurowhe community for finding him worthy to serve again as their President General.

Ogedegbe, who said he cannot turned down the offer of the leaders, men, women and youths of the community calling on him to serve, promised not only to operate an open door policy but ensure they work together as a team, saying he will forgive those who protested against him if they realise and come to apologise to the community and later dissolved all standing committees in the community till further notice.
