FCT, Abuja — The Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mrs. Didi Esther Wilson-Jack, has attributed the ongoing transformation and reform of Nigeria’s civil service to divine intervention.
She also noted that God is the ultimate reason behind the renewed efficiency and progress witnessed in the public sector.
Speaking during the 2025 Civil Service Annual Thanksgiving Service held at the Family Worship Centre, Wilson-Jack expressed deep gratitude to God for the remarkable changes occurring within the Service.
She said that over the past year, policy implementations, structural reforms, and the unwavering commitment of civil servants have shown evidence of God’s hand at work.
“We thank God for the gift of creativity, innovation, and reforms, which have improved service delivery efficiency, driven transformative progress, and enabled the much-needed transformation in the Service,” she said.
Wilson-Jack acknowledged the backing of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, whose support she said has provided strategic direction and policy assurance for the reform agenda.
She also praised development partners, both local and international, for their vital roles in funding, capacity building, and technical assistance.
“We are also immensely thankful for the support and dedication of our development partners, who have stood by us. Their partnerships remind us that our efforts are recognised beyond our borders and that the reform of Nigeria’s Civil Service is a shared mission,” she stated.
The Head of Service appreciated the Family Worship Centre for hosting the event, commending the church for its commitment to promoting godly leadership within public institutions.
She urged the congregation to continually pray for the Nigerian Civil Service, asking that the transformation already begun may grow stronger and deeper.
“Every achievement in the Civil Service is by His grace, and today, we return all glory to God for His blessings upon the Nigerian Civil Service,” she added.
As the Civil Service Week continues, Wilson-Jack encouraged civil servants to remain anchored in faith and purpose.
She concluded the thanksgiving with a prayer for renewed strength, wisdom, and truth to guide all public servants in their roles as stewards of national development.
“To God alone be all the glory for how far He has brought us. Let us leave this place with hearts full of praise, renewed commitment, and a more profound sense of purpose in our service to Nigeria,” she said.
