BOMADI — Ex-agitators under the Coalition of Urhobo Ex-militant Leaders (CUEL) have commended Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori for his swift execution of development projects and human empowerment programs across the state.

In a statement issued over the weekend, signed by Hon. Ebirie H.M. Sylvester, the group’s National Chairman and Executive Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development, alongside Chief Ese Arigo, the coalition expressed satisfaction with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP)-led state government for initiating people-centric projects.

The statement read: “In view of the ongoing infrastructural and social development initiatives by the government of Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, we, members of the Coalition of Urhobo Ex-militant Leaders (CUEL), applaud the government’s efforts to boost the state’s infrastructure and social welfare.

“The pace of development activities suggests that by the end of Governor Oborevwori’s first tenure, Delta State will be a hub of tourist attractions in the Niger Delta region.

“The governor is delivering on his campaign promises, demonstrating practical leadership. His achievements have already earned him recognition, including the Best Governor of the Year 2024 awards from ThisDay Newspaper and Arise Television, as well as an Honorary Doctorate Degree from the University of Benin, Edo State.”

The group also commended the return of Julius Berger Plc to the state and highlighted the governor’s inclusive political appointments and youth empowerment initiatives.

“We are pleased with the governor’s appointment of members of our coalition into various portfolios and his promise to do more.

“As a body, we assure the governor of our cooperation with security agencies to ensure a conducive environment for continued development. We urge all Deltans to support the administration’s MORE Agenda to achieve its ultimate goals.”
