The Aleoba Descendants of Udo and Jakpa Communities in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta State have apologised to Pa. Higson Oporokun over the denouncement of his action as the Olare-Ebi of Ologbotsere family and the Olare-Aja of Jakpa community in an alleged attempt to institute legal action against His Majesty, Ogaime, Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri over the conferment of the Ologbotsere Chieftaincy title on Oma Eyewuoma after Ayiri Emami was purportedly disrobed.
The Aleoba Descendants in a communiqué by principal members of the family, which include Pa Johnson Ogboduwa, Pa Owegho Edward, John Ayewu, Pa George Yatsobo, and Samson Ogboduwa noted that the decision was authorised at a well attended meeting of the Aleoba descendants.
According to them, “We earlier, sometimes on August 11, 2023, depose to an affidavit wherein we denounce the action of the head of the Aleoba Descendants, Pa. Oporokun, who also doubled as the Olare-Ebi of Ologbotsere family and the Olare-Aja of Jakpa community over his institution of legal action against His Majesty, Ogaime, Atuwatse III, the Olu of Warri in connection with the conferment of the Ologbotsere Chieftaincy title on Eyewuoma after Emami was purportedly disrobed.
“Our earlier action was instituted based on misleading information from some chiefs.
“We now realise that the action instituted by Pa. Oporokun as per the Ologbotsere family was within his constitutional right and as such we are solidly behind him.
“We have since tendered an unreserved apology to him and prayed him for his forgiveness as well as presented drinks and cola nuts with wish he prayed for us all..
“That we make this public for record purposes and for the notification of anyone whom it may concern.”
