I started with radio jingles, movie soundtracks – Abby Godwin 

Growth in music is not just about technical proficiency, but about emotional depth and vulnerability.

From behind the curtains to the spotlights, Abby Godwin has come a long way in the music industry.

Starting off her music career as way back as the early 2000’s, Abby Godwin has been a shining light in the industry and now she’s here to dominate with her sounds.

Abby Godwin first started music with the choir from a very young age, in a recent interview with Naija FM, she stated that she began singing from her childhood days as her father was a Choir Master.

“I began singing from a very tender age, my father was a choirmaster at church ” she shared.

Moving on from there, Abby Godwin went on to link up with late Veteran gospel musician Sammie Okposo who introduced her to radio jingles and soundtracks where she did the theme song for the popular Nigerian Soap Opera “This Life” and also encouraged her as his daughter in the music industry. 

“…I started making radio jingles and movie soundtracks,… yes, I did the soundtrack for This Life” Abby Godwin said in a recent interview.

2011 saw the release of her first EP titled “Still Here” It’s a 5-track EP with hit songs like “Good To Me” ft J’adore.

Fast forward down the line, Abby Godwin has ministered at great Christian meetings including the Global Prayer Works Summit with Archbishop Nicholas Duncan Williams in the UK this year 2024 and Koinonia Sound Of Revival UK and Zaria, Nigeria.

Abby Godwin has so far released numerous music projects including her viral sound with IBKSings “None As Great” which has garnered over 10,000 streams on Spotify alone.
