Former Minister of Health, Dr. Abimbola Ogunkelu, has said that the voting exercise cannot be rated until the exercise has been completed.

Ogunkelu stressed that when the exercise is completed, then anyone could truly rate the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC performance in the country.

In an interview with Vanguard at his hometown in Ibowon, Epe Local Government, he noted that the exercise also rely on voter participation in the country.

The former minister argued that no one could rate the present administration based on the poll, saying, the election was an avenue for electorate to decide the fate of any administration.

He said: “The solution is that everyone should leave their home and cast their vote for whoever they wished could address their demands.

“The economy has been bad and election has been the beauty of the Democratic exercise in the country. We have the opportunity to change any government that has failed to perform in the country.

“If they are not happy with the government, they can decide to vote out any underperformed government,” he added.

Ogunkelu, however, urged Nigerians not to rate the administration based on the electoral exercise.

According to him, we cannot rate the Present Muhammadu Buhari administration based on the elections the election was just part of a whole.
