Bauchi—TWO suspects arrested by Bauchi State Police Command for allegedly killing 25-year old Umar Shuaibu of Darazo Local Government Area of Bauchi State, said they killed the victim because of his motorcycle valued at N240,000
The suspects, Adullahi Garba, 22, and Adullahi Galadima, 25, were among 10 other suspects paraded, yesterday, by the Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Kamal Abubakar, at the police headquaters in Bauchi for committing various crimes.
Kamal disclosed that on July 17, 2018 around 8pm, the first suspect, Abdullahi Garba, deceived one Umar Shuaibu to convey him on his motorcycle valued at N240,000 to Zoro village in Darazo Local Government Area.
He said while on their way in the bush, Abdullahi Garba and Abdullahi Galadima hit the deceased with an iron rod and stabbed him with a knife severally, as a result, he died on the spot and thereafter, they went away with his motorcycle.
The two suspects confessed to newsmen that they killed Umar because they wanted to steal his Boxer Bajaj motorcycle and sell it to a dealer for N35,000.
They said the deceased before his death pleaded with them to spare his life, but since the deceased was a close friend to Abdullahi Galadima, they did not want him to trace the crime to them.
One of the suspect, Abdullahi Galadima said: ”I regret my action, but it is too late because I killed my close friend all because of greed and selfish gain. I wish I did not do it.”
