A Warri magistrate’s court, Delta State, has remanded five suspects arraigned on a 10- count charge of kidnap, robbery and murder.

The suspects allegedly committed the offence during the August 22 attack on Ugborodo indigenes, who were in a ferry to attend a meeting at Ode-Ugborodo, Warri South-West, in which two were killed.

Those arraigned include Charles Kpotor, 51; Uwawah Emmanuel, 34; Geoffrey Ereoma, 36; Jolomi Meshagharun, 46, and Chairman of Parallel Ugborodo Administrative Committee, Churchill Newton, 50.

Magistrate Carl Moeteke, meanwhile, noted that the court had no jurisdiction to hear the case. He remanded the accused at the Okere Prisons, Warri, and adjourned till October 19, when the prosecutors should have arraigned them before the state High Court, Warri.
