Dialling up emotions and interest by amplifying the story of the human spirit of freedom, resilience and strength, Interswitch, Verve and Quickteller have unveiled a campaign revealing their position and plans for Nigeria’s Fintech space.
Speaking on the essence of the campaign, Marketing Manager, Interswitch, Olawale Akanbi, disclosed that Interswitch is constantly seeking answers to questions that will ensure customers enjoy safer, faster and smarter transactions.
His words; “In response to the concern that majority of Nigerians are either under banked or unbanked, a division of Paypoint Agents were set up to drive inclusion through nationwide deployment. They carry out financial services in their neighbourhood on behalf of Interswitch. ”
On Verve card’s card-less ATM withdrawal, Enyioma Anaba, Marketing Manager, Verve, said; “Verve was borne out of a need for cheaper technology, hence, the innovation of card-less withdrawal. To enjoy this, customers need to insist on Verve cards as opposed to taking whichever card they are given. Customers have the right to choose between cards and need to be abreast of the services cards offer, and this is the aim of this campaign.
“We are working on international acceptance so Verve cards would be completely borderless. This we are achieving by signing an agreement with Discover Financial Services, the owners of Diner’s Club, which when implemented, will enable Verve card be used across the DFS network in 185 countries.”
Stating that Quickteller is SME friendly in its bid to provide optimum payment ease, Adetayo Teluwo, Marketing Manager, Quickteller disclosed; “We seek to be close to the people and spice up their lives by meeting their varied payment needs which cut across buying airtime, paying bills across 5,000 merchants, 3,000 of which are SMEs, as well as transfer between banks. These are all possible as 17,000 automated teller machines and 150, 000 point of sale terminals are Quickteller enabled. Quickteller can also be accessed by downloading the mobile application, via text by dialling *322# and on BBM Discover. It is basically about one less thing to worry about.”
On how Quickteller is coping with banking apps which are considered competition, Teluwo revealed; “Banking applications are not competition but partners. Every bank has an app, if you use several banks; you end up with several apps, why not simply use Quickteller to marry them all since we are swift with inter and intra bank transfers? Nonetheless, we are focusing on places where online payment is untapped, new frontiers. We are the only ones that provide social media payment, though just on BBM for now, we are working on getting on Instagram and Whatsapp.
