PORT HARCOURT—SUSPECTED cultists, on Monday, killed two persons, simply identified as Emma and Dele, in Omoku Town, Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Similarly, unidentified gunmen, on the same day, kidnapped Isaac Messiah, a senior lecturer at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Omoku, and his daughter, from their Lagos Avenue residence along Ogboo Road in Omoku, at 1p.m.

These incidents happened after repentant cultists in the area threatened to deal with anyone who engaged in killing and kidnapping in the area. They had equally warned politicians to stop arming youths.

Arms and ammunition

A source, who preferred anonymity, said it was after the 1p.m. kidnap incident that the bandits killed two other persons around Ahoada Road in Omoku at 11p.m.

He claimed the killers laid siege to the area with heavy weaponry, and that three hours after the operation, the duo were found dead.

According to him, security operatives later visited the scene of the incident and evacuated the remains of the two victims to the mortuary.
