THE online community is unarguably the largest community in the world. With over a billion people on Facebook and WhatsApp combined, and millions on other digital platforms, it only makes sense that Small and Medium Scale Enterprises, SMEs, have found a haven to access their largest markets. What’s more, advertising in the digital space is readily affordable. The challenge, however lies in the fact that many SMEs don’t know how to take advantage of the digital space.

Co-founder of Quickleap digital, Mr. Mayowa Sanni is on a mission to help SME’s grow digitally. In February 2014, he partnered with friend and Co-Founder, Ayo Arikawe to launch the company, a digital agency which focuses on idealization, product development and digital marketing. Although the company accepts big companies, its target from inception has been SMEs.

Sanni explains why. He told Hi-Tech start ups: Business is all about providing value to people, and they pay a price for that value. As a business, you need these people to be aware of the value you claim to have, hence the need to meet the people where they can be found. The digital space is the easiest space to find your potential customers.

Almost everyone has a mobile phone now, that shows you the power of the digital space. So it’s very important for businesses to explore the digital space to maximize its operation. Every business should have either a website or social media presence, or both. It’s imperative.”

Continuing, Sanni said: “Also, the digital space helps businesses in their marketing. You can target your specific market and measure feedback effectively.”

QuickLeap Digital helps businesses take advantage of these digital opportunities. “We help bring tech ideas to life, and give it every muscle it needs. This is especially for guys that want to found a tech startup, and know nothing or little about tech. We are here for them. We are also involved in product development; we develop products for fantastic ideas, from websites to applications to enterprise solutions.

Digital Marketing is also part of Quickleap’s core. “We take those ideas and products, and help businesses publicize them digitally, till they reach their targeted audience. We also take care of social media management,” said Sanni.

Sanni, whose company claims to deliver strong and distinct brand identities, logotype, symbols, typography, colour palette, app icons, iconography and illustrations, is hopeful about Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.

His words:  The Nigerian tech ecosystem is still at her infancy, so she needs a lot of nurturing and feeding, that’s where the accelerators, hubs and Venture Capitalists come in, but they are too few in Nigeria. What we need is for such platforms to increase in number because they provide financing and mentoring, and we would see accelerated development of the tech ecosystem.
