Bauchi—No fewer than two persons died, while four others were injured in a motor accident in Bauchi.
According to a statement issued, yesterday, by the spokesperson of Bauchi State Police Command, SP Haruna Mohammed, the accident occurred along Sade-Darazo Highway.
It stated that the accident involved a bus with number plates YLA 564 XA, driven by Abdulssalam Adamu from Yola, Adamawa State capital.
The statement noted that the accident occurred as a result of a burst front tyre, while the vehicle was on top speed.
It said: “As a result, the driver lost control and the vehicle skidded off the road into the bush.
“Police Patrol Team attached to Darazo Division visited the scene and rushed casualties to General Hospital, Darazo, where one Sanusi Mohd, male, of Potiskum in Yobe State, aged 30, and one unidentified male passenger were certified dead by a medical doctor.“
Four passengers, Mr. Adamu Shu’aibu Daya, Mr. Abdurahman Mustapha, both legal practitioners, Abubakar Sulaiman and Mohd Aiyuba, all from Potiskum, Yobe State, are admitted and responding to treatment.
The bodies were deposited at the mortuary for post-mortem examination and efforts are being intensified to trace relatives of victims.
