Osun State House of Assembly member representing Obokun State Constituency, Olatunbosun Oyintiloye has congratulated the newly elected member of House of Representatives, Hon. Olaitan Akinwunmi to represent Ifako-Ijaye Federal constituency of Lagos State on his victory.
Akinwunmi was elected in the Saturday’s Lagos bye-election, sequel to the death of the late Honourable Elijah Adewale who died on June 20, 2016.
At the bye-election, Akinwumi who was the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) had 7,652 votes to defeat his Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) opponent who scored 1,736 votes.
Oyintiloye described the victory of the House of Representative member-elect as a well-deserved, saying, the victory has justified his political influence in the area.
According to him, the house of representatives member-elect agelong loyalty and patience in the progressive fold has paid off for him and rewarded him.
Oyintiloye, who also congratulated the leadership of the APC for the victory of its member said, the party has again demonstrated its ability to sustain its popularity, especially in Lagos State.
“Your political commitment and loyalty to your party, APC and leaders of the party, has entrenched you in the political landscape of Ifako-Ijaye federal constituency, which is your base.
“With your victory, the ruling APC has again demonstrated its ability to sustain the tempo of its popularity, especially in Lagos State and Nigeria”, he said.
While charging the lawmaker-elect to justify the confidence reposed in him by the people of his constituency, he said, the critical areas where urgent attentions are needed should be adequately pursued for his people through legislative means.
Oyintiloye said, this is the only was he could pay back for the effort made by the leaders of his party and his supporters to ensure his election into the national Assembly.
