Another Ijaw youth abducted

By Emma Amaize

WARRI—ANOTHER Ijaw youth has been abducted at Ovwian, Udu Local Government Area, Delta State, after three were hijacked, weekend, while two boats carrying Urhobo natives escaping from Ijaw communities overturned on Sunday at Burutu, but the occupants were rescued alive.

This came as Ijaw People’s Development Initiative, IPDI, and Committee for Rural Development, Mr. Enaibo Asiayei, yesterday, asked the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, youth wing, Udu, which issued the 14-day ultimatum to Ijaw indigenes leaving in Ovwian and Udu, to withdraw the ultimatum, which has exacerbated the crisis.

IPDI, in a statement by its acting spokesperson, Mayor Ogobiri, said the latest kidnap happened near a hotel at Ovwian on Sunday morning, while the victim was returning home.
