The recent military  coup in Burkina Faso has forced next month’s 2016 CHAN qualifier between Nigeria and Burkina Faso to be moved, according to media reports.
The final CHAN qualifier was slated for October 18 in Port Harcourt with the second leg in Ouagadougou a week later.
However, the volatile security situation in Burkina Faso caused by the coup has now forced CAF to postpone the fixture until further notice, according to a Voice of America news bulletin.
This may now mean that a training camp for the CHAN Eagles scheduled to open on October 4 in Port Harcourt will no longer go ahead on account of this postponement.
The overall winners of this match-up will qualify for next year’s CHAN in Rwanda.
Meanwhile, the Nigeria Football Federation said it was not aware of the development and that they would go ahead with plans for the match.
