ABEOKUTA—Chairman, Ogun State Civil Service Commission, Mrs Aderonke Folarin, yesterday, explained why the six education officials were sacked,saying, their conduct breached Public Service Rules of the state.

Folarin in a statement she personally signed, titled ‘sanctioned education officials: setting the record straight – Ogun Civil Service Commission’ said the officials were sacked because they were found guilty by the panel that looked into the matter which she said was reported by parents of some students in took the exam.

She said all the officials concerned were given the opportunity to defend themselves both in writing and orally, in line with the constitutional provision.

She however described media reports on the sacking of the six officials as misleading and misrepresentation, saying, the Commission acted on the complaints lodged by parents of some students over the nature of the exam.
