UNN’s VC blasts PG students over protest

ENUGU—Vice Chancellor of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, UNN, Professor Benjamin Ozumba, has berated the institution’s postgraduate students for protesting hike in tuition fees, insisting that the increase was meant to deliver services to the students.

Ozumba accused postgraduate students of turning the school hostels into their permanent abode, where they reside with their families.

Meanwhile, the school would graduate 15,904 students during its 44th convocation today.

The Vice Chancellor said 14,015, would receive bachelors degree; 331, doctorate; 1,168, masters and 177, postgraduate diploma.

According to Ozumba, “all graduating students will collect their certificates during the convocation. The Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka, will deliver a lecture entitled Rebuilding the Nigerian Dream: Mapping the Building Blocks, as part of activities lined up for the convocation.”
