WARRI—POLICE in Delta State have gunned down two robbery suspects and arrested two others, while on stop-and-search duty on Ogunu Road, Warri South Local Government Area of the state.

A statement by the state Police Public Relations Officer, Mrs Celestina Kalu, said that the suspects, Oghenero and Michael, fell to police bullets during a gun duel and were part of a four-man gang caught operating on a tricycle.

She said: “Items recovered from them include one cut-to-size locally-made gun, one live cartridge, one battle axe and one tricycle, with number plate AKU 027 QB.

“Meanwhile, the arrested suspects are undergoing investigation at the Area Commander’s Office, Warri, while the corpses of the deceased armed robbers had been deposited in the morgue for autopsy.”
