OWERRI—Imo State Government, has set up a committee to identify projects executed by Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA, and constituency projects in the state.
Explaining why the committee headed by the Chief of Staff, Sir Jude Ejiogu, became necessary, Governor Okorocha said there was the need for the check, especially as billons of Naira might have been allocated for such projects.
The Governor charged the committee to “tour the state to see whether there are NDDC projects, FERMA projects and constituency projects in parts of the state”.
He directed the committee to find out the amount appropriated for the projects and how much was actually spent.
“You must also find out who collected the money for the jobs from these bodies, see whether the projects have been done where they exist, and whether what was done could be commensurate with the amount collected for such and those involved”, Okorocha said.
