ABEOKUTA—A governorship aspirant of the Labour Party, LP, in Ogun State, Nasir Gboyega Isiaka otherwise known as GNI, yesterday, dumped the Labour Party and joined the People’s Democratic Party.

Isiaka, who contested in 2011 governorship election on the platform of People’s Party of Nigeria, PPN, however, obtained expression of interest form for governorship at the PDP secretariat in Abeokuta.

Speaking shortly after he obtained the form, Isiaka  said he had consulted with his supporters and associates before he defected to the PDP.

He said his desire to serve is borne out of a conviction that he possesses “the capacity to lead this state to a greater height from the background of sound professional and academic background, solid and enviable private sector experience.”

According to him, “I come from a part of the State that is highly marginalized and have not been opportuned to govern this State in the last 38years of its creation despite the abundant human capital and rich history of contributions to the socio economic development of the State.

Also, a former Minister of Mines and Steel Development, Sarafa  Ishola  who was also a former member of the Labour Party has joined the PDP and as well obtained an expression of interest form for governorship ahead of 2015.

Sharafa who obtained his form earlier, pledged to look into the well-being of the people of the state.
