Sacked Police IG Sulaiman Abba

ILORIN— ACTING Inspector General of Police, Suleiman Abba, has pleaded with Nigerians, irrespective of political and religion affiliations, to collaborate with security operatives in war against insecurity in the country, urging Nigerians to see security as a collective responsibility of all for the country to successfully win the battle against rising security challenge.
Abba spoke in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, at the luncheon in honour of newly promoted members of the Alumni Association of National Institute for Policy and strategic Studies, NIPSS, Kuru, Kwara State chapter organised by former President of the institute, Alhaji Jani Ibrahim.
According to him, “security is a collective responsibility and on all Nigerians must be interested in what is happening around them.”
The IGP, who was represented at the occasion by the Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG, Zone II, Mr. Ambrose Aisabor, said: “Nigerians should support the security agencies by ensuring that they make available necessary information that will help the agencies.
The people in the country should shun all forms of acts capable of hindering the desire and commitment of security agencies to put an end to this security challenges facing the country. It is only an atmosphere of peace that development will come to the doorsteps of the populace hence the need for cooperation of all and sundry.”
The IGP who described the honour being given to the former members of the NIPSS in Kwara as well deserved, urged them not to relent in their efforts at using their new positions to add values to the socio-economic development of the country.
Also, former president of the NIPSS Alumni Association, Alhaji Jani Ibrahim, said the programme was organised to recognise excellent and merit.
He advised the recipients to be up and doing in the task of moving the nation forward in their new positions.
In his remarks, the guest speaker, the chairman, Assets Management Corporation of Nigeria AMCON, Alhaji Kola Belgore, decried the economic situation facing the nation.
