Owerri — Maverick politician and protagonist of the defunct, controversial Association for Better Nigeria, ABN, Chief Arthur Nzeribe, has thrown his weight behind the Deputy Speaker   of the House of Representative, Chief Emeka Ihedioha, for next year’s gubernatorial race in Imo State.

Nzeribe, who made his feelings known when he played host to Ihedioha in his Oguta country home, also said the Deputy Speaker had distinguished himself as a reliable, dependable, trustworthy and party faithful, who had used his position to bring honour and glory to the state and the nation.

Chief Nzeribe noted that Chief Ihedioha had all it took to regain Imo State Government House for the PDP next year.
“I vividly recall that I had in the past, implored Chief Ihedioha to run for the governorship election in recognition of his sterling potentials and ability to move the state forward.

“Your 2015 gubernatorial interest is a continuation of an envisioned project which I started years back,” Nzeribe said.

He commended Ihedioha for extending dividends of democracy beyond his Aboh Mbaise /Ngor Okpala federal constituency, adding that the Deputy Speaker’s quick intervention during the flood that ravaged Oguta last year, was a balm to the victims.

Speaking earlier, Chief Ihedioha described Nzeribe as “a trail blazer, an oracle, a seasoned politician and an institution of reference.”
He stressed that his ambition to govern the state was borne out of the desire  to salvage the state from further degeneration.
