Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State will on Thursday, August 7, declare open the Orientation Course for the first stream of the 2014 Batch ‘B’ of the National Youth Service Corps, at the State NYSC Orientation Camp, at Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos.
According to Faniyi Belinda, the Lagos NYSC Assistant Director, Public Relations the orientation course will commence nationwide between August 5 and August 26.
Belinda said: “In Lagos State about 4, 000 corps members are expected to participate in the 2014 Batch ‘B’ Orientation Course, which has been divided into two streams. The Orientation Course for the first stream will commence August 5 to 26, 2014 while the second stream of the same Batch will start September 1 to September 22, 2014.
“The Orientation Course is the first activity of the one year National Service. It is designed to induct corps members into the NYSC programmes and prepare them for the challenges of National Service.
The Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babatunde Fashola is expected to preside over and formally declare the Orientation Course for the first stream of the 2014 Batch ‘B’ open on Thursday, August 7 and the second stream of the same batch on Wednesday, September 3, 2014,” adding that “the Chief Judge of Lagos State will administer the oath of National Service on the corps members.”
