Rivers 2015: Group vows to stop Wike

PORT HARCOURT—A group, Rivers PDP Third Force Movement, has vowed to resist moves by some persons within the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to impose the Supervising Minister of Education, Mr. Nyesom Wike, on the party as governorship candidate in next year’s election.

Secretary of the group, Mr. Oprite Amachree, said that the alleged move would violate laid down procedures of the party, adding that what the party parades as executive members in the state were mere friends of the minister.
Threatening not to accord recognition to the executive, the group said the party had clear guidelines on how to constitute party executives.
