The Foundation for Passion and Genuine Hope said it has concluded plans to make life worthy for widows and the fatherless children across the country.

According to a statement signed by the National Coordinator of the group, Mrs. Vivian Atuanya, ‘widows and children are the vulnerable ones whenever the breadwinner dies.

‘We plan to teach them vocational skills like hairdressing, dressmaking, bead making, catering, etc. across the country, to cushion the effect of bereavement and give them succour so that they can fit into the society instead of leaving them in frustration.

“We also want to create awareness against unpleasant cultural practices against widows and make them live happier lives like other normal persons,” says Atuanya.

The foundation, she says will be launched on 2nd April, 2014 at the Ladi Kwali Hall of Sheraton Hotel in Abuja, where people from all walks of life are expected to grace the occasion as part of awareness campaign against ‘unholy cultural practices’ towards widows.
