Nigeria’s Enyimba have qualified for the first round of the Champions League despite losing 2-1 to Anges de Notse of Togo yesterday.
Enyimba advanced to the next round of the annual club competition 4-3 on aggregate having won the first game in Aba 3-1 a week ago.
The will now battle AS Real Bamako of Mali in the next stage of the competition.
Enyimba goal in Lome was scored by new signing Abdulrahman Bashir in the 66th minute after the home opened scoring just before the interval.
Nigeria’s other flag bearers in the competition, Kano Pillars, crashed out when they lost 4-3 on aggregate.
They defeated AS Vita of DR Congo 2-1 in Kano, but lost the first leg 3-1 in Kinshasa a week ago.
