The senior national team, the Super Eagles have dropped one place to 37th in the latest Fifa world rankings released on Thursday morning.
The Super Eagles gathered a total of 710 points to maintain their position as the fourth best team in Africa ahead of Cape Verde who are placed on 698 points to claim the 39th spot in the world and 5th in Africa.
Côte d’Ivoire are ranked first in Africa with 918 points while the Black Stars of Ghana end 2013 as runners-up after gathering 849 points. Algeria are fourth on the log with 800 points.
World and European champions Spain top the final ranking of the year for the sixth time in a row, securing themselves once again the title of Team of the Year.
