Salaudeen becomes Wakeel-ul-Muslimeen of Ogun State

THE League of Imams & Alfas of Ogun State has concluded arrangements to install a top Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abdul-Razak Ishola Salaudeen as the Wakeel-Ul-Muslimeen of Ogun State.

The turbanning ceremony will hold tomorrow Saturday 24 August at the hall of the Ijebu-Ode Central Mosque at 11.00 a.m. It promises to be a five star event as Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State is billed to be chief host, while royal father of the day, the Awujale Ijebu, HRM Oba Sikiru Adetona, Ogbagba II, leads other eminent royal fathers to the event. Paramount traditional rulers expected include Alake Egba, HRM Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, Akarigbo Remo, HRM Oba Michael Adeniyi Sonariwo, and the Olu of Ilaro, HRM Oba Kehinde Olugbenle. Potentates of lesser ranking will also grace the event.

Listed as chairman of occasion is an engineer who is also Alaranse Adinni of Ijebuland, Alhaji Sikirullai Bosun Oke, while the chairperson expected is famous socialite, Princess Khadijat Kuburat Adebisi Edionseri.

High point of the turbanning ceremony is a lecture to be delivered by Sheikh Habeebullahi Adam Al-Ilory, the Mudeer Morkaz Agege. Sheikh Salaudeen’s ascension to the post of Wakeel-ul-Muslimiin comes to few as a surprise, having devoted his entire life to the furtherance of Islam in the immediate communities of Ijebuland, Ogun State, and Nigeria in general.
