As activities marking the London 2012 Paralympic Games qualifies continues across the globe, Twenty-two Nigeria Paralympic athletes and five coaches including the president of the federation Dr Frank Thorpe, will depart the country’s shores on Thursday March 8 to Dubai for the London 2012 Paralympic qualifier in para-athlethic events holding from March 9-20, 2012.

The athletes include Iyiazi Njideka. Adebayo Bukola, Nnaji Patricia, Oriyomi Olaewe, Okoko Margret, Nwaozuzu Chituru, Akanni Jelili, Omojola Alinco, Hannah Babalola, Ewerem Chika, Solomon Amaraoku, Imbimon Anthony, Bashiru Ayinla, Maxwell Ekenonu, Ezeh Sunday, Otoboeze Nneka and Unyime Christopher Uwak. While Gbolahan Olaiya, Flora Ugwuna,Akinbole Omolola and Adebayo Monsuru Ayinla complete the list of athlethes.

Secretary General of the Nigeria Para-Athletics Federation man of God Sunny Obot is confident that Nigeria athletes will shine in Dubai ater a-two week long training training exercise in camp.

One of the top athletes to watch out for in the Nigerian team is Mary Okoko who is currently no 2 in the world.

With the President of the Nigeria Para-Athletics Federetion ad the leader of delegation, the Nigeri team is expected to depart at 2pm Nigeria time aboard Emirate airline.
