The leadership of the Nigeria Football Federation on Thursday paid a courtesy call on the Senate committee on sports and they used the opportunity of the visit to solicit for an increase in their yearly budget allocation.
The NFF acting general secretary, Musa Amadu told 2muchsports.com that the senate committee on sports invited them for a parley and they sought to know the problems that the football house is facing in running the game in Nigeria.
“They asked us what are the problems we are facing in the task of running football in Nigeria and we had to tell them that funds has been our greatest challenge and an increase in our budget will go a long way in solving the problem for us.”
“The senate committee on sports was just recently inaugurated and they invited us alongside the sports commission to know the things happening in sports and to find a way of giving a helping hand in any area of our challenges.”
“Everybody knows that funding is our biggest challenge , as we can do more if more funds is made available to us, this we made them to know.”
