UYO – Governor Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom State has said his commitment to youth empowerment and development through employment generation was irrevocable.

Akpabio unveiled his plan to empower youths and end unemployment when he declared open a two-day workshop on Youth Unemployment, organised by the state House of Assembly Committee on Security, Youths and Sports.

Represented by the  Deputy Governor, Obong Nsima Ekere, Akpabio said since his assumption of office in 2007, his administration had hoisted a banner of hope for the youths and placed their policies and programmes on the front burner of the administration.

He said: “To prepare the youths to be better leaders of tomorrow, we gave them the opportunity to acquire the experience by involving them in leadership positions across local government areas in the state.”
