Nigeria coach Samson Siasia has given the Flying Eagles some tips on how to qualify for the next round of the U20 World Cup in Colombia.

Speaking at the team’s training ground Tuesday as they prepared for Croatia, Siasia told the players to be a little more tidy at the rear.

“I expect you to correct the mistakes I noticed in the match against Guatemala. A stronger team than Guatemala would have punished you especially in defence and so I expect you to play more compact against Croatia,” Siasia told the Flying Eagles in training Tuesday evening at a police base outside Armenia.

“I want you retain possession of the ball. You hardly put together four passes at a time. You can only do something if you have the ball and so you must keep the ball.

“I also expect a player like Ahmed Musa to be one of the leaders on the pitch because he is already with me in the Super Eagles.

“He also must not be too predictable as he was against Guatemala. If he is, I will be able to defend against him even with my bad knee.

“(Terna) Suswan must also be a lot more concentrated being also a player who has been with the Eagles.”

Siasia told the players he is on the lookout for young players for the 2014 World Cup and so the Flying Eagles have to do everything to impress him.

“This is your chance to show me what you have got,” he said.

“Not all the players in the Eagles will be at the 2014 World Cup and so you have a good chance to do well here for me to consider you for my team.”

The Eagles handler will leave for London on Friday ahead of a friendly against Ghana on August 9.
