Nutricima begins nationwide milk campaign


TOWARDS enhancing the nutrition quotient of public hospital patients as well as the general public, a leading milk and beverage manufacturer, Nutricima Limited,  last week embarked on a nationwide milk distribution to 300 public hospitals within the six geo-political zones of the country.

In a chat with Good Health Weekly, during the flag-off of the programme tagged, “Olympic Milk Hospital Partnership” at the Ikorodu General Hospital, Lagos, Senior Brand Manager, Milk Nutrition, Mrs. Chiaka Eluchie, noted the importance of milk for growth.

She explained that consumption of milk is beneficial for repair of worn out tissues, restoration of lost blood and energy, optimal brain performance, provision of nutrients for fresh skin and treatment of malnutrition and kwashiorkor.

Further, Eluchie said “Under the Olympic Milk Hospital Partnership, we will be giving free samples of Olympic evaporated milk to people and offer useful nutritional tips that would improve their overall well-being. Olympic Milk is a veritable vehicle for this initiative as it contains essential vitamins and minerals.

She noted that the campaign would run for three months. Eluchie said the choice of Olympic milk among its products was to create awareness for its unique advantages especially on the fact that the milk contains low cholesterol.

Recommending the product for adults, she stated that the primary targets were patients with nutritional deficiencies.
