LAGOS — A 30-man robbery gang, weekend, engaged the Police in a shoot-out in Ibeju Lekki area of Lagos, while 13 suspected members of the gang were reportedly arrested.
Recovered from the suspects, according to the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Samuel Jinadu, were dane guns and house breaking tools.
Vanguard learnt that the bandits stormed Abule-Folie community in Ibeju Lekki at about 8.30p.m, Saturday, where they carried out a house-to house operation.
Sighting policemen from Elemoro, who were alerted, members of the bandits outside reportedly opened fire. But they were reportedly overwhelmed by the combined fire power of Operation Show Force.
The bandits reportedly abandoned their weapons and some of their loot as they fled in different directions.
Jinadu said: “But 13 of them were arrested in the process. The suspects have been transferred to the State Anti Robbery Squad.”
