Benin—Dr Simon Imuekemhe, the immediate past Edo Head of Service, has been appointed Secretary to Edo State Government, SSG, by Governor Adams Oshiomhole.
Imuekemhe’s appointment was announced in a statement, signed by Mr Peter Okhiria, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor.
He replaces Mr Pally Iriase, who quit the post to contest election for Owan Federal Constituency seat on the platform of ACN and won.
Imuekemhe, 56 was appointed a permanent secretary in 1999 during the Lucky Igbinedion administration.
He was deployed to Government House and later moved to the Board of Internal Revenue, where he served as Permanent Secretary/Chairman of the board from 2000 to 2005.
Imuekemhe was appointed Head of Service in 2005 from where he retired in February.
