The greatest Myth of all

If there is one myth most women have swallowed hook, line and sinker, it is the one about hair growth. Yes, every woman secretly thinks and believes [or merely wishes, as one likes to say!] that there is one cream, somewhere on this earth, or maybe a secret formula known to only a select few, which when used, will transform any challenged hair into 14inches of glorious Indian-weave-looking hair. Only in your dreams perhaps!

The truth is that healthy hair is not achievable if you don’t pay attention to your hair’s specific needs. And what every head of hair needs differs from person to person, regardless of blood ties. That one’s Mother had a full head of hair all her life, and still does at the age of 72, means absolutely zilch at the end of the day. You may not have inherited Mum’s hair genes; sorry!

If any person living in this world has that cream which one will apply on a bald scalp to sprout hairs, he/she must be very wealthy indeed. I am assured that the massage one performs on the bald areas is more effective than the creams we apply. In fact, most hair grow-aid potions, will insist that you massage for best results.

Please, no cream penetrates to create any new hair; it is not scientifically possible. Your magic cream appears to be working only because the hair’s rest phase ended about the time you started applying the cream and massaging. That is why some women will say the cream worked for their friend but not for them.

You can improve upon what you have, thereby giving room for new hair to grow, but more importantly, stay put on your head. And it is a simple formula, even if a little cumbersome. The right diet plus the right conditioners [both rinse-outs and leave-ins], in cases where you are straightening, then the right chemical product for your hair and scalp type, the right cleansers [not necessarily shampoos] and of course, the right hair stylist: these are the factors you need to combine to achieve a healthier head of hair, especially if you were not born with it!

Thanks for reading and make it a great week!
