Former Accountant-General of old Bendel State, Mr Simeon Eyoma Okotie, JP, is dead, aged 79. He died at the Atlanta Medical Centre, Atlanta, Georgia, in the United States.

The late Mr Okotie was Accountant-General of Bendel State from 1978 to 1984 when he retired voluntarily from the public service.

He  was a member of the Itsekiri Leaders Forum, ILF, and was until his death, the Head (Oloriebi) of the Okotie-Demeyin family of Koko in Warri North Local Government Area of Delta state.

A statement by his family said burial arrangements will be announced soon.
