Eagles’ interim Coach, Austin Eguavoen has said that he relied on information provided by Marseille’s Taye Taiwo to plan for last weekend’s African Cup of Nations qualifier against Guinea in Conakry. Nigeria lost 1-0 and stay three points behind the Guineans, on the table.
He said he relied on Taiwo’s information because a good number of his knowledge of a good number of the Guinean players, playing club football in France ; the same domain with the Nigerian player.
“I had thought they would be easy prey for us to over_run for the three points at stake. My format did not eventually work out, and I saw a different thing entirely when the game started”, he confessed.
