Yenagoaâ€”The investigative panel of inquiry instituted by the Chief Judge of Bayelsa State, to probe the allegations listed against the embattled Deputy Governor of the state, Mr Peremobowei Ebebi has invited the Deputy Governor to appear before it on June 22 and 23, to defend the allegation of gross misconduct levelled against him by the state House of Assembly.
The notice inviting the Deputy Governor to appear before the seven member panel headed by D. C. Denwigwe, SAN, was issued onÂ June 14, 2010.
Ebebi, according to summon, is expected to appear before the panel at the Creek Motel, venue of the sitting.
The invitation read,
â€œNotice is hereby given that the sitting of the above panel has been set down from 22/6/2010 to 23/6/2010, for the investigation into the allegation of gross misconducts made/leveled against you (Peremobowei Ebebi) by the state House of Assembly, at the conference Hall of Creek Motel, F.M.C Road, Ovom-Yenagoa, at 10.00am in the forenoon or so soon thereafter.
â€œBy the notice, you may attend the proceedings of the panel in person or through any counsel of your own choice to give evidence in person or through any witness.
You are required to fill copies of any witness statement or document as you may deem fit, at the office of the Chief Registrar of the High Court of Bayelsa State not later than five days from the service of this notice.â€
The panel was inaugurated on June 9, a day after the state lawmakers passed a resolution directing the Chief Judge to set up a probe panel to investigate the offences listed against the Deputy Governor.
