Eagles technical adviser, Lars Lagerback, is to consider who between Daniel Amokachi and Austin Eguaveon will sit with him on the bench during the World Cup.
FIFA regulation restricts the number of technical officials allowed on the bench to maximum of five and this means Lagerback must drop two of his assistants that include Amokachi, Eguaveon and Alloy Agu.
The Swede tactician while accepting the job has made it clear that he would have his own two assistants, one coach and physical trainer.
This means that only one Nigerian assistant coach can be with the team during the World Cup. However, Lagerback said that he would make good use of all the Nigerian assistants as they would be involved in scouting, match analysis and team talk.
Eguaveon said that he was looking forward to working with the Lagerback.
“I believe we are going to have a good working relationship where everybody will do his own bit to see that the team does well,†Eguavoen said.
