Agbarho killings case transferred to Zone 5

AGBARHO — THE case
of the kidnapping and murder of Isaac Ukanefimoni, 32, an indigene of Agbarho, and Mr. Ovuoke Obie, a native of Okpara Inland by suspected members of a vigilante team in Agbarho, Delta State, last month has been transferred to Zone 5 headquarters in Benin-City, Edo State.
Four suspected members of the vigilante were arrested by the Agbarho police and later transferred to the State Command, Asaba following the discovery of their two decomposing corpses with their kidneys, private organs and hearts missing, at the Onokpasa riverside, Agbarho.
Saturday Vanguard learnt that the transfer of the case to Benin-City was in connection with what families of the deceased persons called lackadaisical attitude of the police command towards unmasking the killers and accomplices and bringing them to book.

In a telephone chat with Mr. Brown Ukanefimoni, elder brother of one of the deceased, he “said it is true, the case has been transferred to Zone 5, we want justice for the killing of my brother”.
Police Public Relation Officer, Asaba; ASP Mouka confirmed the transfere when called by our correspondents, he said “ yes, the case has been transfered to Zone 5 in Benin-City”.
An unconfirmed source at Agbarho told Vanguard that the leader of the Vigilante, Mr. Newworld Itehru was seen walking free in the town after being initially fingered for leading his boys for the operation, but that the vigilante has been invited by the AIG to come to Benin-City on Tuesday (yesterday).
PPRO, Zone 5 could not be reached at press time as his colleague said he has gone to Bayelsa State with the AIG Zone 5.
