PORT HARCOURT: Imo State Government has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Diamond Group, on the construction of one thousand-unit housing estate along the Port Harcourt/Owerri road, a move intended to address the shortage of accommodation in the state.
Managing Director of Diamond Group, Engr. Kenn Obiora Nwabuoku assured that the firm would deliver to specification on the project. Secretary to the Imo State Government, Chief Cosmos N. Iwu who signed the MoU on behalf of the Imo State Government said the project when completed would ease the burdens some go through to secure accommodation. He also promised that the state would live up its part of the MoU.
According to the Special Adviser to the governor of Imo State on Bureau for Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Tito Asekhame, a total of twenty-five companies applied for the project.
